Yamaguchi Platform Bed Frame-Dark Walnut

14 week wait (as stated at time of order), but beautiful wood and excellent stain job! Plan for the wait accordingly, and you won't be disappointed. Fits together very well - no squeaks. One very small dent on side rail, but everything was packed very well (double packed). Took longer to unwrap everything than to assemble. Assembly is straightforward and easy. Added a Magari headboard, and it is beautiful as well. The headboard isn't quite as tight as the rest of the bed, but I'll get a couple small shims to correct that. Would definitely recommend this bed!

I purchased the Yamaguchi Queen frame with the Magari headboard. Beautiful combination, and assembly was very easy. Product is well crafted (both the frame and mats), well packaged, and customer service, from order through fulfillment, was spot on. Would order from Tatami Room again without hesitation.

This is a simply a solid bed. The workmanship is exquisite and it looks great. It arrived quickly in five boxes (including the headboard, which is sold separately). The hardest part of putting this together was unwrapping the pieces, which were double-boxed with foam. Not a ding to be seen. Overall, I am ecstatic with my purchase and highly recommend this product!

Great wood craftmanship from Indonesia , with Japanese knowledge set up super easy sturdy wood and great quality, I use to sleep in tatami mats when was in Vietnam , great for your back and looks greatvin the bedroom.....!!! Gus

Excited to finally get this bed after waiting so long to make a decision. I purchased a king size and am so thrilled with my new Yamaguchi frame. I had friends over to help me and we were impressed with the simplistic beauty of design. There were oohs and aahs about the legs (lol!). Unwrapping, setup, and cleanup took all of 50 mins. We didn’t realize that the headboard would replace the back rail as we unboxed it after assembling the frame. No drama. A quick switch out and voila! Done! I love everything about this bed. Finally got to assemble it last night, it is great. Some comments in no particular order: 1. I got queen size 2. assembly is easy (although 2 people easier than one) 3. tatami feels so nice and is a great surface for activities other than sleeping as well (if you have a removable mattress e.g. futon) 4. Tatamiroom had issues with the supplier of the tatamis, then of the frame, but they were very kind and supportive and I was not in a rush, so that was fine in the end. However their website is not updated that often it seems, give them a call. Jason (my support person) was really nice to work with. 5. once they got the stuff over customs, shipping was pleasant to deal with 6. slept like a rock, feeling really nice, firm and solid All in all very happy now although it did take several weeks to get it because of supply chain issues.

I purchased this bed in a queen size with tatami mats. It arrived quickly and was in good condition with no visible damage. The traditional joinery was a welcome treat. All the pieces fit together like a glove with only few fasteners described in the reviews below. I also have one of the headboards available for this. Be aware that if you get the headboard, it will replace one of the frame sections, so you will need to store this somewhere permanently if you ever wish to take the headboard off. This bed looks very traditional. I got the futon to go with it. It's a very firm sleeping experience, but comfortable to me, and provides excellent back support. Overall quality and sturdiness of the wood seems excellent. The only negative is the expense of the shipping, but these are very heavy items, of course.
