Yamaguchi Platform Bed Frame-Dark Walnut

My king bed arrived very quickly, sooner than expected, in three separate boxes. It was very well packed, so although the frame box was ripped there was no damage to the bed. It was easy to assemble and fit together beautifully. The finish is very well done without any blemish. The slats appear to be strong and supportive. The only downside for me is when it comes to making the bed. Because the slats are recessed about two inches within the frame, and I am using a mattress without a foundation, I need to lift the mattress to tuck in the mattress pad, the sheets, and the blanket. My latex mattress is quite heavy and fills the entire space, so it is a struggle to get underneath it to grip and lift. Otherwise, a great piece .

Needed a king sized bed and searched for one. Most are pressed board and then I found this all hardwood bed without metal fasteners except for the center support. It arrived very promptly, well packaged and undamaged. Customer service was excellent in getting it to me for the holidays. The finish is very nice and the internet color image was true to color. The bed was very easy to assemble and clean and simple in appearance. The bed slats are well made and the center supporting system is very heavy duty. To assemble, all one does is slide the pieces together like an interlocking but very easy puzzle. Assembly took about 25 minutes, including unpacking. Once the slats are added with the center support, the bed is rock stable. It is all hardwood too and a great value. I have used the bed for about two weeks and it is still rock solid. I think it will hold up over the long run based upon its design and materials. It appears that the wood has been milled on a CNC machine too. Highly recommended.

I hope that I get the chance to review this after I have had it for a while. This review is after having it assembled for one day and sleeping on it for one night. I noticed when I was shopping that all the reviews seemed to be right after assembly. I believe customers would appreciate reviews from individuals who have used the bed for a year or more. First, customer service: excellent. I spoke to someone on the phone about my prospective purchase. I wish I could remember his name. He was helpful, knowledgeable, patient and went out of his way to assist. Packing: arrived in good shape. One end of one of the three boxes was soaking wet but it was thankfully double boxed and the interior box was only damp and the wood appeared to be dry. Assembly: I managed the king bed alone but it would have been much easier with a helper. Also, there are some bolts and nuts involved in the center bar attachment contrary to the description. The head beam, foot beam and side rails fit together without hardware. This bed is clean looking, nicely fit together, solid feeling wood. It leaves you with a serene spacious feeling. I have the walnut stained and it is a very nice warm dark rich color. The wooden slats are spaced well with very little room for the mattress to fall through. The slats are about 1.5 inches apart. They are held in place with wooden dowls. I did not order the headboard yet. If the bed holds up well I may order it later.
