TALL Tatami Platform Bed - Natural Finish

It is uncommon to find furniture of this quality anymore. Interestingly, I've actually been looking at this bed since 2017, since I am a floor sleeper (with some foam cushion) for health choices. A bed with tatami mats on it allows me to "sleep on the floor" without actually being on the floor. It is everything I hoped for.

I first heard of another company that was advertising Japanese joinery but was a little out of my budget and didn't have much variety so I started researching other companies and stumbled across this website. I was a little hesitant just because there wasn't much marketing etc. but WOW. I am so glad I trusted the reviews and took the leap. Best bedframe I have ever had (we got the tall Tatami Queen frame) First of all- customer service is great. You call- they answer! And they are super knowledgeable on all of the products etc. When we first pulled this out of the box I was so amazed at the quality of the packaging and the material/wood. We started taking down our old bedframe that was sinking in the middle and I couldn't believe the difference between the wooden slats. Our old bed frame slats were bowing and literally breaking apart after 8 months of use (such cheap wooden material used) and when we looked at the slats that came with the tatami bedframe they were SOLID, thick and so sturdy. The bedframe was incredibly easy to put together and so fun. My boyfriend kept saying why don't other companies make bedframes like this?! It makes so much sense!! We haven't slept this great in so long. I know without a doubt that this bedframe will last a lifetime. I am so glad that I invested my money into this amazing bedframe. Thank you for making a QUALITY product!! We will be purchasing all of our bedframes from you moving forward.

This is a fantastic bed. There are other beds with a similar build (notably the Thuma) that are slickly marketed and cost at least $200+ more. Don't pay more thinking you'll get something better. This bed is extremely well designed; the craftsmanship is excellent; and it was easy to construct (took less than 10 minutes). Shipping also was relatively quick, and the items were well packaged. The wood is as light as pictured. If you want something that's finished, you should opt for one of the other versions of this bed that are available on this site.

It feels good to invest in such a substantial piece of furniture, rather than a mass produced piece that will be junk in a few years. This bed is beautiful, strong and very well made, a very substantial base for good sleep that will last for many years. I put it together myself with no trouble. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

My husband was a fire fighter for 9 years I’m an athlete so we were needed information something more firm to sleep on. Tatami mats and the Shiki futon worked great! And these mats just slid on in! Beautiful Bed frame and very sturdy!

This bed frame is beautiful, I purchased the natural finish and really love the look of it. I was thinking about purchasing the Thuma bed, but I’m VERY happy with my decision to purchase this frame from Tatami Room. I LOVE it! It’s super sturdy and easy to set up. It would probably be easier to set up with two people, but it’s possible to do it on your own; I live alone and managed to build it in about 40min. Considering the pandemic, it came a lot quicker than I thought it would and it was very well packed, not a scratch on the wood! I would definitely recommend buying from here, it’s quality product and I feel that it’ll last a lifetime.

After 20 years of marriage we decided to be grown ups and get a queen size bed. I had 3 basic criteria...able to fit things under the bed for storage, solid construction, and simple lines. The Tatami Tall fit all of my criteria. We ended up going without a headboard, which I'm a bit grateful for, as our bedroom is on the small side and I think the headboard would have taken away another vital few inches of space at the end of the bed. But even without a headboard, this is beautiful. The natural color, the shape of the legs, all of it fits the clean, minimalist look that I wanted. I would 100% purchase another one of these...in fact, when my oldest moves out on his own I think I'll probably suggest he invest in one.
