TALL Tatami Platform Bed - Honey Oak

It is just as nice as we hoped it would be. Beautiful wood, clever craftsmanship. Feels incredible solid. And yet it is easy to move if needed. It is the last bed we will ever buy. Pretty easy to assemble. We only had one tricky moment when trying to attach the middle support beam. We lowered the barrel nut into the hole in plastic wrap (one could also use string) just in case we had to pull it out again, which we did. It was difficult to perfectly align the barrel so the screw could find it from the outside of the beam.

I'm pretty sure this will last a long time. Overall, it's a good bed with a good price. I took away 1 star because one corner was a tight fit and required some force. The other 3 corners fell into place without hesitation. So, whoever manufactured mine must have went to the max or min tolerance. Not perfect, but it's acceptable.

Ordered on-line, I was a bit worried as I couldn't see it in person, but I was told there was an example in J-town, so I looked at that one. The bed is solid and very well made, goes together easy. Took me way longer to take apart and remove the old frame than build this. Everything fit together like a puzzle, tolerances were spot on, and assembly was a snap. We got the King, so there are 4 total bolts 1, at each end, head and foot, and 2 holding the center supporting piece. All this was simple, well thought-out and right on as far as specs go. Tatami mats slipped right inplace, also well made and on target as far as size. Overall the fit and finish on the frame is really high quality, particularly for the price. This is a great bed.

After weeks of looking at daybeds . I found this Tatami bed . lucky me . As a furniture maker I can appreciate the Japanese joinery . Solid built to last . I wish that they had offered color samples . Non of the pictures are accurate . I'm going to turn the one we bought into a Nakashima style daybed . Can't wait to get started . A solid company to work with . Jason took outstanding care through out the entire process . I can say without hesitation go ahead and buy one .

My husband and I love our new platform bed! It was really easy to put together and so gorgeous. It’s very stable and it looks built to last. I like the height of the tall version and feel the regular height would be too short for us. I wish I was in the market for a second bed, because I would buy another in a heartbeat. I highly recommend the tall tatami platform bed.

This is our first experience with a platform bed. We are very pleased with this bed. It fully supports both twin boxsprings and the king mattress without any sagging anywhere. Since receiving the bed two nights ago, I’ve had some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. Plus, it has saved my chucking out over $1,000 worth of mattress and box springs to try again and probably get another bed that sets the mattress up to fail. Very pleased, indeed.
