The Yamaguchi Platform Bed Frame in Natural Finish - This Japanese style platform bed is constructed with interlocking frames that requires no brackets or screws for easy assembly. The platform bed frame is made of 100% solid hardwood (Parawood-environmentally friendly wood) in satin finish. Includes 18 pairs of solid hardwood slats (2" spacing) to support any standard queen or king size mattress.
*Complete platform bed set comes with two Tatami mats to create a serenity space for meditation or sitting area, Japanese futon mattress may be added for sleeping that provide excellent back support and comfort (sold separately).

Very solid- not squeaky.
After living in Asia for the last year, I was looking for a low bed, and this one is fantastic. Almost no hardware (only the center slat support has a bolt and nut at either end) and the frame itself just slips together. We have a memory foam mattress with no box spring, instead of the tatami mats, which works very well. The bed is silent, even with -ahem- vigorous activity, and does not rock around or slap the headboard on the wall. In fact, the joinery is tight enough that the bed does not move or rock at all once all of the pieces are together. Highly recommend!
