TALL Wakayama Platform Bed - Dark Walnut

Great platform bed and for as great as it looks in the photos it looks even better once you build it. Quick and easy assembly. Very solid bed and most definitely see it last for years and years to come. Very quick delivery especially considering size and weight. The staff was very nice and will go above and beyond for their customers. Will be buying more furniture from them.

The service from tatamiroom.com was excellent, what with speedy delivery of the well-packaged items via Fedex. As for the bed frame itself, including the headboard, it's very attractive and has that distinctive zen-style look. Assembly is a breeze with the help of the included IKEA-like installation instruction sheet. No drilling and no nails but uses the provided hex screws and key. This item sustains damage quite easily when bumped, however light, onto sharp solid surface. I wasn't expecting that for a supposedly solid wood. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

I was looking for a bed frame that met very specific requirements: a small footprint (no bigger than the size of the mattress); at least 9 inches of clearance under the bed for storage; slats no farther than two inches apart; a center support beam with center support legs; solidly made (all hardwood and held together by more than a bunch of nails and a few brackets); and, of course, beautiful. This bed is perfect - it exceeded my expectations. It arrived in 4 excessively well packaged boxes and the shipping was both inexpensive and fast (even to the opposite side of the country). Ideally, it's a two-person job to put it together. I did it myself (I'm 5'2" and 100 pounds) so help isn't STRICTLY necessary, but it would be far easier if you have another person on hand - especially since this is a serious piece of furniture. Even the slats are heavy (this is a good thing - no corners were cut in crafting this bed). Other reviewers described the (easy) puzzle-like process of putting it together - each piece fit perfectly together. No nails required! - only 4 screws (one each to attach the center support legs to the center support beam and 2 screws to attach the center support beam to the bed frame), and 4 dowels to hold the slats in place. Everything you need to put it together, comes with the bed. And the legs are inset a bit - a particularly nice detail if you are space challenged - you'd have to really TRY to stub your toes (if you are into that) when walking around the bed, even in a tight space. This is an absolutely gorgeous, absurdly solid, piece of furniture. EVEN THE ALLEN WRENCH WAS PRETTY.

I went from having a very cheap Walmart bed frame, to this beautiful well crafted bed frame. The difference is like night and day. I ordered a King sized frame and fair warning it does come in many boxes and they are heavy. If you aren't a strong person you will need help screwing in the headboard because it is a heavy solid piece of wood. I've had my frame for a few weeks now and it's held up wonderfully. Feels extremely sturdy and can support a lot of weight. Can't recommend this bed frame enough!

My frame came quickly and customer service was great! It was easy to follow the directions, and all parts were very good quality, assembly was very smooth with 2 people. It looks so beautiful in our bedroom and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fine piece of furniture. We chose the walnut.
