TALL Tatami Platform Bed - Honey Oak

We got the bed and immediately put it together. It was doable alone, but a second person would have made it a breeze. Everything was packaged very well. This is a SOLID bed. It looks amazing, it feels great to sleep on, I swear our mattress is like 5x more comfortable on this frame. It was even easy to scoot a few inches (with two people) while assembled. Yes, it did take a while to arrive, but it is absolutely worth the wait.

Solid product and great construction along with good packaging/shipment. I ordered the queen size tatami + platform bed frame With the matress and tatami + platform bed frame, is sleeping great and seem to ease some back problem (maybe just my personal feel). Also no cracking sound when sleeping on the platform bed frame with the headboard. The stuff is very friendly to allow me to change order before shipping when I realized the originall full size bed may not be enough for me. The package/shipment seem also very well.

Received this bed a week ago and immediately assembled it. We were surprised to find that even though we haven't changed mattresses, the need feels so much more solid and substantial, and we sleep better than we did in our previous platform bed. Tatamiroom's service was great before I ordered and while the order was in progress and always answered my questions promptly. I highly recommend the bed and also doing business with this company!

After conducting a fair amount of research, including reading forums, comparing Tatami Room with competitors, I decided to go with the tall platform bed (honey oak), and I'm so happy I did. The price was right, the quality is impeccable, and the customer service has been responsive. Customer Service: Yes, it took a while for them to ship, but I never felt in limbo. I emailed to ask about the status, and they immediately replied to inform me it was further delayed, and invited me to cancel the order if I needed to, which I appreciated. Glad I didn't, though. Assembly: When it arrived, it was VERY well packaged. The instructions were concise and clear (although the parts lettering could be clearer in the print out - tip: you don't use dowels to connect the center support to the frame; all 8 dowels are for stretching the slats only.). I assembled this by myself, so it's totally doable. The slats were the only part where a second pair of hands would have helped a bit, due to their weight. Quality: Bed doesn't creak one bit (after 1 night's sleep). Super sturdy. We'll be moving it to another spot in the bedroom soon, and it's not gonna take much time at all, even if we have to disassemble it! The honey oak finish is beautiful and closely matches the trim and baseboards in my bedroom - it is not too yellow and not too orange. As a woodworking enthusiast, I love the castle joints and spline detail. I do wish Tatami sold a pillow board cushion type of headboard, but that is not a complaint about the bed. Love this bed!

This bed is beautiful in its simplicity and looks amazing in our room. Super sturdy and quiet and we expect to have it for a lifetime. We picked the honey oak color and it looks just as pictured. As another reviewer mentioned, the only tricky part is installing the center stability bar. We had some difficulty getting the screws to latch correctly. Other than that, assembly was a breeze. Shipped and packaged safely too so it arrived with no damage. Very happy with our bed and so glad we picked this one over the Instagram competitors.

We now have both a king size and twin size bed with tatami mats. Though it takes awhile after ordering to receive them, they are worth the wait. Pieces are well-made, solid, and easy to assemble. Customer service is prompt and professional. When my budget allows, I would consider additional pieces from this product line.

Love this piece! The honey looked more like actual honey than some of the photos (they looked darker to me on the website than bed actually is). Packaging was great, fairly easy to assemble at one person. A truly beautiful piece of furniture. Took a solid 11 weeks to arrive, so be aware it'll be a wait.

I am so pleased with the tall tatami platform bed in honey. I ordered the king-size with a headboard. The reason I went with Tatamiroom vs the other company is because I wanted to have a stable headboard. The other company had bad reviews with the headboards. (unstable). I was fine with the shipping time, good things are worth the wait! The quality of the product is top-notch. Sturdy pieces and beautifully finished. I am glad I went with honey, it is a nice golden color. I had to assemble the bed by myself and found it easy. All the pieces fit nicely together. It took under 1 hour to assemble the bed. I had to figure out, on my own, to omit the top board when using the headboard. It was easy to take the board out and install the headboard. The only tricky part of the assembly was installing the center stability bar. I started with the headboard attachment and had to lift the footboard slightly up to line up the stability bar. I rank this bed 5 stars for quality, price, and ease of assembly. Also, their customer service is very responsive.

The hardest part was waiting for the bed! I ordered the Mado headboard and storage drawers to go along with the Tatami bed frame, and those two items were delayed a bit, so I opted to wait for everything to be ready before they shipped the bed. In all, it took 3 months to receive everything. Putting it together was straightforward and pretty easy, and I'm pleased with the quality. The honey oak color is very nice. It's beautiful and quiet.
