TALL Tatami Platform Bed - Dark Walnut

Went together quickly and easily. Very sturdy and solid construction. Great appearance.

The bed is top quality. It is well made with tight tolerances that go together perfectly to form a solid frame. One minor complaint is the center rail. It is not constructed as well as the bed Itself; the rail legs are flimsy and the attachment points leave much room for failure if you are not careful during installation. In totality the bed is top notch and worth purchasing.

The bed arrived by freight yesterday and as many people mentioned, I spent about an hour unpacking everything and only about 10 minutes setting it up. We bought the King Size bed and I was able to do everything myself. One thing to note is that if you bought the headboard you should install that first to join the two rails, install the middle rail, and then install the other end piece. It's a bit smoother that way. Overall quality of the bed frame is really good, but I have two minor complaints. 1) The quality of the middle rail and slats are poor. The surfaces are rough and the stain on it bubbled on a few pieces. Given that these are not exposed I don't care too much but it just represents a lack of overall detail. 2) The tatami that came with it are machine made. I wasn't expecting handmade quality, but there are some minor cosmetic defects that wouldn't have happened with tatami that were hand made. Also, THERE ARE STAPLES holding the fabric edging in place at the corners. If you're not careful you will scratch the bed frame with the staples as you try to place the tatami inside. I placed the first one in without a problem, but the second one it scratched the headboard just a little. I've touched it up so it looks okay now.

Honestly I thought these reviews were over the top but after receiving, putting together, and sleeping on my Tatami Platform Bed (I went with the TALL) - I am so impressed - these reviews were not over dramatic. First of all, the shipping on the bed were probably some of the best I have ever seen. Yes it took about 2 weeks to receive the parts but I got constant updates along the way and the boxes were packed incredibly well. Extra cushions taped on and blocking all the edges, boxes within boxes for protection, everything was wrapped super well. I think it took me longer to take everything out of the boxes than to actually set the bed up. Super easy install that I did by myself. The platform bed is SOLID, has little to no wobble (if you hit the side directly sure it moves a bit but if you are on the bed rolling over I dont feel it at all), and no noise made while moving either. The quality of the wood and finish is superb and I 100% will be recommending this product and company to all my friends. Very well done, keep up the great customer service and product quality!

This bedframe is sturdy and amazing. It took longer to unpack from all the boxes than it did to put it together. Super solid. I would recommend to everyone I know.

I debated a number of other bends but ultimately went with the Tatami Room bed with Magari headboard. The quality is top notch, the build is solid, and it looks great. While other brands send their cash to their marketing teams, Tatami Room has instead reinvested in their quality and craftsmanship.

Three weeks after receipt, I am happy to report this bed frame is sturdy, stable, and sculpted well. I received the bed quickly (1 day!) along with supportive communication in scheduling the delivery. I assembled the bed late in the night. I tried to be gentle to minimize noise. That, in addition to doing the task myself, resulted in my taking longer to assemble the bed. If there were another person, I would have cut the time by MORE than half. If you live in an apartment, assembling on a rug or doing so not too early and not too late would be helpful to your neighbors. The headboard is a bit shorter than I expected. However, I didn't measure before ordering and am accustomed to taller bed frames over the last fifteen years. I am satisfied with the headboard I purchased. Getting in and out of the bed or moving in bed throughout the night are silent in comparison to doing so with my previous frame and box spring, which were respectively ten and fifteen years old. In fact, I was concerned I may need a new mattress. The Tall Tatami Platform Bed frame (Dark Walnut) nullified the need for a new mattress. Overall, I am incredibly pleased and happy that I chose this over a Thuma Bed.

I got the tatami bed/mats yesterday, got it setup immediately and quickly thanks to its very nice and clever design, I am very impressed by the quality of this product and the fresh smell of mats is just amazing. Thank you again for such a pleasant and smooth transaction. when I sit on my new tatami, my room has nothing but this tatami, now I realize that I need two more things! one is the tea table, the other is the floor lamp, without these two things, my room is not finished with wonderful Japanese style. please help to make your store an one-stop shop, I really like to order these missing pieces from you and I can wait.
