TALL Tatami Platform Bed - Dark Walnut

This is the second Tatamiroom order that our family has placed. Our daughter was the first to purchase one of their beds for her first apartment. We were so impressed by the quality of her bed that we decided to order a second bed for her bedroom at home for when she comes to visit. I am so glad we did. I love this bed. My husband's grandfather made custom furniture, so my husband is extremely picky when it comes to both the wood and workmanship. The Tall Tatami Platform Bed had him nodding in approval upon inspection. The finish of the wood is smooth and integrates with the Mado Headboard seamlessly. One small comment my husband did make was that he wished the center support also had the same coloring as the bed instead of the lighter wood, but that is just his preference. Be forewarned, the wood is darker than it appears on screen. When they say in the title, Dark Walnut, they mean it. Again, this is still a five-star bed but I just wanted to let others know not to trust how your monitor displays colors. The bed is darker. Our daughter's other bed, which was purchased a few years ago, is the Honey Oak and is extremely light. Since the pictures show it darker on the website, I thought the Tall Platform Bed may be on the lighter side as well. It was just the opposite. The shipping company did a great job and delivered the bed earlier than expected, which is always a nice surprise. I would not hesitate to recommend Tatamiroom.com to any of my friends or family when they are looking to purchase their next bed. If you are on the fence about placing an order-- don't hesitate-- just do it! =)

Quality, service, price, and response are all that great companies offer! The product I received was PERFECT! Assembly was simple with minimal screws (4) to utilize. Their response to an issue (a part missing) was immediate! It did not delay my assembly or use of the platform and they kept me informed of the status. I will always do business with Tatami Room! I just bought my second Tatami bed, and I love them both. They are well crafted and beautiful for the money, and both arrived with zero shipping damage. They are also very solid once assembled. However, there are minor blemishes in the finish of both (largely unnoticeable) and I just broke one of the center supports on one bed by moving it to clean behind it. The center supports are very strong as long as they do not receive any lateral stress. And, since they aren't adjustable, having a thick carpet under one support and not the other created stress too. So, I cut custom 4x6 blocks with a keyway for the center rail to provide support. I suggest Tatami Room beef up these supports and make them adjustable. Also, it's a little tricky to make the bed because the mattress is recessed, but this is consistent with the design of these beds and I've gotten used to it. All that aside, I recommend this product to anyone looking for a stout, simple, and attractive frame that goes together easily.

I have wanted one of the beds since I saw them on line many years ago. They under promised and over delivered on the shipping. fiit and finish are excellent. I had a small issue and Pin responded in ess than 1 hour from my email. Great customer service! The bed is Very well made, the joints fit perfectly together and I put it together by myself very easily. The slats are best if you roll them up and them unroll on the frame.

This easily the highest quality bed frame I've ever had the fortune to put a bed on top of. The assembly comes together in well under an hour for a single person. The wood is beautiful, and incredibly solid. This bed frame really adds an elegant look to our bedroom and we couldn't be more happy with it.

I was counting down the days until this arrived. Super excited, assembly was an absolute breeze to do, packaging was excellent to the point that everything still freshly cut, and made with care. Not a single Mark anywhere on the packaging. Took my first night's sleeping last night, and I have never heard a bed frame be more quiet. Very highly recommended!

We have had our tatami platform bed for several months now and love it. It is solid, sturdy, and silent. The only downside is pillows escaping off the back of the mattress (solved by a bolster foam section). It went together easily and will serve us well hopefully forever.

I am absolutely in love with this tall tatami platform bed (dark walnut). It was packaged exceptionally well, and there were no damages to the frame whatsoever. The interlocking frames is a thing of beauty and simplicity without sacrificing stability. The frame is absolutely rock solid and does not budge. The wooden slats are thick, high quality, and spaced perfectly at 2 inches apart to support my latex mattress. It took me a little over 1 hour from start, including unboxing, to finish to put the bed frame together. I honestly don't have a single complaint, and I absolutely would buy this bed all over again if I had to. Next up is the Magari platform headboard to go with this bed.
