Ensui Platform Bed Frame

I bought this bed because of the elegant joinery and simple/modern style. I can also attest like the others that it is very solid, and the height is just right. I managed to put it together myself, but it was a struggle; it's not the complexity but keeping one side steady while the opposite side is assembled. Another pair of hands would have made the job go much faster. Cross-country shipping took a reasonable amount of time. Points also to customer service; all questions answered patiently. Bottom line, I'm very happy with the purchase.

This bed definitely takes more than one person to put together (king size) and is very heavy but after finally putting it together we love it!. The bed frame is very solid and so far no creaking! We got the Ensui platform and there is room under the bed for storage. It took a little longer than expected for shipping but I emailed customer support and they were very prompt responding to me.

This bed frame is exactly what I/we were hoping for - well made, very solid, simple in look and construction - I literally love looking at this bed and it's of course quite comfortable (and quiet) to sleep on. The internet is rife with the same low-quality, not-great-looking bed frames being sold on various sites under different names/brands - to the point that one is ready to give up or reckon with shelling out a whole lot of money for something of decent quality. This bed is priced fairly and seems to be of real quality, and Tatami Room was great to work with - clear communication all through the process. We had to wait a bit for the bed to be back in stock and I'm so glad we did.

I found this site while looking for beds with Japanese joinery (got an advertisement for another brand and wanted to find something at a better price point). I could not find much about this site in terms of reviews on the web, but after a professional and helpful e-mail exchange with their customer service, I decided it was worth a shot and bought it. So glad I did! This bed is everything I wanted - sturdy and wooden, modern looking, and easy to put together/take apart for moving. I did months of research on modern beds before buying this one, but so many of the other ones have mixed reviews. This was the best one, in my opinion. I will probably buy another one of these in the future when I am ready for a bigger bed.

I fell down the instagram rabbit hole for the IG Tatami bed. After looking for reviews, someone on reddit recommended Tatami Room. We were not dissapointed. The bed is SOLID. If you order the King headboard, I would recommend two people to hoist it up. I ended up doing it myself as a 5'1" woman but it would definitely be better with two people. It really brings the finishing touch to the room and I won't be shocked if I get the nightstands next! Thank you!

I looked for months for a well made platform bed for my new king mattress. Everyone had the same stuff and it was cheaply made or else super expensive. I finally found the Tatami room site by going back a bunch of pages on the search siteand could afford it and it looked solid. It was shipped the day after I ordered it and I got it within the week. I put it together by myself with ease. The hardest part was getting it out of the boxes because it was packed extremely well. I would suggest you have another person to help with the slats to make that super easy, although I did it alone. Everything fits, is made of real wood, is well cut, and has a nice finish. (better than in the photos on the site) It does not wiggle or jiggle or squeak. I am very very satisfied and happy that I found this company.

Came in 3 boxes. Well protected during shipping. I set every piece out where it was supposed to go. Set by myself under 30 minutes. Would’ve been quicker but I had trouble figuring out how to put the slates in one side (king bed). Figured out on the second slates that if you leave them bailed together and set them in the middle of the frame you can cut the slates and roll them out. If I’d know that I could’ve built it in 20 minutes or less. Love the bed frame. Should’ve bought the headboard before it was sold out. Will have to wait until restocked. You can’t beat free shipping. All 3 packages combined were 110 pounds. Came in about week. Go get one before there gone.

My wife and I absolutely love the look and design of this bed. And the thing is SOLID and extremely well made. It’s makes our small bedroom feel more roomy as the design is sleek and does not have any bulk. I can’t say how much we love it. Would definitely recommend to others if your looking a tatami bed. This specific model is a tall tatami so you don’t have to drop down too far to lay out. Our standard US pillow top mattress without box spring does sit high against the headboard designed for this bed; we don’t mind, but it’s something to think about for anyone planning not to use a tatami mattress. Tip to save your back if you’re using the headboard: balance the headboard on a stack of thick books as you slide the feet into the cross joints.

I have been so thrilled with my purchase! I had been sleeping on a mattress atop a foundation, and I was surprised to find how much more comfortable it became after transitioning to this slat bed frame. The bed is beautiful, and we find it to be a very comfortable height from the ground. The assembly didn't take me much more than half an hour to forty-five minutes by myself, including the time taken to unwrap/unbox all the pieces. I was surprised how easy it all was! I think there might have been only two screws involved - the entire frame itself assembles just like a large jigsaw puzzle. I looked high and low for a platform bed, and I think that you'd be hard pressed to find one that delivered more value than this one. Everything in the bed is made out of solid wood, which is almost unheard of at this price point. We went without the headboard, but I think we will consider adding it in the future. With or without it, this bed is gorgeous!
